The School

The Hooper English School is a small private English language school which was established in 1999.  Initially, the school focused on developing specialized business English courses for international financial organizations in the Tokyo area.  However, in 2004 we set up a small language school to provide general English classes to local kindergarten, primary and junior high school students in the Higasi Fukai area of Nagareyama.

Who We Are

Hooper English School is run by Akane and Don Hooper from their residence in Nagareyama, Chiba.

Don Hooper is a fully qualified English teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience in Japan, Singapore and London. He has a Masters Degree in TESL/TEFL from Birmingham University,  England and currently works for leading universities in the Tokyo area including Meiji University and Reitaku University.  He also works for Z-Kai, a leading juku or cram school, aiming to help students gain entrance into the prestigious Tokyo University and provides tailor written business courses for prestigious international companies in Tokyo.
